You should visit Dr. Ambedkar National Memorial

How will you feel if someone starts to treat you on the basis of your caste, religion, race or status?

Can you marry a low caste person?

Do we take any advice from a low caste community?

Is there Casteism in India?

Proud to be caste/religion is good or Proud to be an Indian?

Yesterday, Khazan suggested me to visit Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar National Memorial which is located nearby Vidhan Sabha or you can say 'Civil Lines'. Nowadays, we are traveling across the different parts of Delhi as we are making videos for our YouTube channel IAMKHAZAN. Being a great fan of Dr. Ambedkar, I was excited to visit this memorial. I got some knowledge and facts about him through the internet and asked Khazan to read something for our next video. We were ready for our new video with some preparation. We decided to take a round of the memorial and later on we would be able to explain it in a better way.

kbhi paise na hone pe beijjat kiye gye ho?

So I got up early in the morning, after a workout and cooking food, took bath, and then ate breakfast. Khazan came around 10 am in the morning, it was unexpected as I thought that he would not be able to come today due to his bank work. He said that he (Lucky) will also come. So we left for Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial at 10:30 am. Lucky could not come due to some urgent work. We reached at the Nangloi Metro station around 11:40 am. At the metro, we were standing nearby the wending machine because Khazan had 7 metro cards and he has to check the active card, unfortunately, every single card had a negative balance in it. So we took the metro at 12 pm. We took Kirti Nagar metro by mistake, so deboarded at Madipur Metro station and then took another metro for Inderlok. We changed at Inderlok for Kashmere gate and then took the yellow line for Civil Lines. The metro was almost empty at the Civil lines station.

Dharam pehle ya Desh?

We were outside the Civil Lines metro station and asking people about the direction towards Dr. Ambedkar National Memorial. There was some advertisement outside a hotel, where they have put something heart-shaped decoration, we took some photos. I asked Khazan to open the Google maps and put the location of the memorial. After 5 minutes, we were standing in front of the memorial. Now, it was time to shoot the video of the memorial, but Khazan forgot the mic at home. There will be some noise disturbance in the video.

Now, I was checking the history of Dr. Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar for our video. I knew about some of the histories of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar because I have read 'Annihilation of Caste' during my college time and I am a great admirer of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar like everyone else. Khazan gave the introduction part of the video and there was too much noise in the video but we didn't have any option. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to take the videos of the memorial. We decided to click photos, will use the same as a slideshow to explain the video through voice-over.

There was an Ashoka Pillar in front of us, a water fountain, and the beauty of the design of the memorial.

At the entrance, you will find some guards who will help you with the guidelines in the memorial. You will be surprised to see the huge displays where the life of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar has been shown in a magnificent way.

You can see the beautiful architecture in the memorial where it represents the different places connected with the life of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar.

What if you are the highest educated person in your country, but you are not getting any respect ? What if you can change the world, but the society is full of narrow minded people? What if you can not drink from the same well like other people and you are quite thirsty? What if a highly qualified man gets disrespect in a school where his only motive to educate the every section of the society?

The King of Baroda , Sayajirao Gaekwad was a great admirer of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, he helped Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar during his education. But the pressure of society forced him to left Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar alone in the harsh time. After getting no help or cooperation from the society, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar decided to take a bold step on his own to help the poor people. While sitting under the Banyan tree in Sayaji Bagh ( 23 September 1917), he took decision to help every section of society, because there were so many people who were neglected by the society because of their caste and social status.

After submitting our bag, we entered the memorial. It was our second entry in the second registration- register, first at the main gate and then, inside the memorial. Khazan was about to take the videos, but was denied by the workers in the memorial. I was clicking the photos as well as reading about the history of Dr. Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar. There were so many questions in my mind. Why didn't the school provide this information? Why we were kept in the dark from the casteism? Why people doesn't talk proudly about this great legend? During my school time, I have never seen any play about Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. I didn't face any discrimination over my caste, but yes there was time when people have thrown remarks about the caste indirectly. I was getting concession in my school fee because of my lower caste. I have seen dialogues used like 'Proud to be Rajput', 'Proud to be Shatriya', 'Proud to be Jaat', 'Proud to be Brahaman', and so much proud over the caste, 'Proud to be Indian' was less in highlight in the society. People curse the reservation, but couldn't change their mindset over casteism. I will not go in depth on this matter as I am not perfect on this subject to argue with anyone.

There is a big statue of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar in the middle center of memorial where his hands points towards that temple of democracy known as the parliament.

You will be able to see so many pictures where you can see Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar as a Leader with many organizations.

A legend was born in India and he will always remain a one. No one can match his leadership as he was praised by so many global leaders.

When you were treated like an animal, when you were unable to cast your vote, when you do not have any right to get divorce from a unsatisfied marriage, when you do not have any right to own your property, when your country doesn't have any constitution, when your murderer were living freely, when you had no right to get any education, when you can not enter in the temples, when you can not eat with upper caste people, when your highest education was not counted in the society, when you were not able to drink water from the same well, when you were not able to enter the houses of upper caste people, when you were doomed to do menial jobs as sweepers, gutter cleaners, scavengers, watchmen, farm laborers, rearers of unclean animals such as pigs, and curer of hides; there was only one solution to all these problems: Dr. Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar . He was like living 'GOD' for the lower caste people, and he had tried his very best to eradicate the casteism from the society but casteism is living like a cancer in the minds of people. When he died, people lost their strength, confidence, experienced so many feelings like shock, numbness, sadness, denial, despair, anxiety, anger, guilt, loneliness, depression, helplessness.

While reading from the displays in the memorial, I found out about many great people like Devrao Vishnu Naik, Bapusaheb Alias Gangadhar Neelkantha, Bhai Alias Anant Vinayak Chitre, Sambhaji Tukaram Gaikwad, Subedar Vishram Gangaram Sawadkar, Shantaram Anaji Upasham, Kamalakant Chitre, Raobahadur N. Shivraj, P.N. Alias Pandurang Nathuji Rajbhoj, Sitaram Namdev Shivtarkar and so many other great people who supported Dr. Baba Saheb during the harsh circumstances. There were so many people who gave their promise to support at any given time for Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. I will not copy and paste the details about Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar from internet, you can read about him from Wikipedia and so many other blogs of people.

There is Recreation of Dr. Amdedkar's study and things used by him in a room.

You will find the statue of Mahatma Buddha in a meditation hall.
